Finns Beach Club vs Atlas Beach Club: Which One Is Right for You?
If you're staying in Berawa, Canggu, you'll walk past signs for both of these within your first hour. Finns Beach Club and Atlas Beach Club are the two dominant names on this stretch of coastline — both well-run, both genuinely good, and both within easy reach of Villa 1 and Villa 2. The question most guests end up asking us is which one they should prioritise.
The honest answer is that they're built for different days. Choosing between them isn't really about which is better — it's about which one matches the kind of afternoon you're actually trying to have.

Finns Beach Club
The short version: relaxed, beachfront, and built around the view.
Finns sits directly on Berawa Beach and has been there long enough that it's become part of the furniture of the area. It's the more established of the two, and its setup reflects that — the layout puts the beach and the ocean at the center rather than the venue itself. Sunbeds and daybeds face west toward the water, the pool runs parallel to the sand, and the whole place has a pace to it that doesn't feel rushed.
Vibe: Laid-back. The kind of place where a long lunch drifts naturally into afternoon drinks without anyone hovering to turn your table. Earlier in the day it's quiet enough to have a proper conversation; it picks up energy as the afternoon goes on without ever tipping into anything resembling a scene.
Crowd: A mix of couples, smaller groups, and families. Skews slightly older than Atlas during the day, which depending on your point of view is either a plus or a minus. Evenings bring a younger crowd as the DJ kicks in and the sunset atmosphere builds.
Food and drinks: The menu covers what you'd expect from a well-run beach club — wood-fired pizza, fresh seafood, salads, and a cocktail list that handles a long afternoon without getting boring. Food quality is consistently good rather than exceptional, which is fine when the setting is doing most of the heavy lifting.
Best for: Couples, smaller groups, anyone who wants the classic Bali beach club experience without a lot of production around it. It's also the better call for families with younger kids — the setup is more manageable than Atlas's larger, busier layout.
Practical notes:
- Book a daybed in advance if you're going on a weekend — they fill up earlier than you'd expect.
- The sunset view from Finns is genuinely one of the better ones on this beach. Arrive 45 minutes before sunset to be settled before the best light starts.
- Entry is typically free during the day with a minimum spend on food and drinks.
Both clubs are a short walk from De Prestigio. Villa 1 and Villa 2 sit in the heart of Berawa — close enough that a beach club afternoon and a villa dinner on the same day is a realistic plan, not an optimistic one.
Atlas Beach Club
The short version: bigger, louder, and built to impress.
Atlas is the newer arrival and it arrived at scale. The venue is significantly larger than Finns — multiple pools, several distinct bar and dining areas, an amphitheater-style main stage, and a layout designed to handle a serious crowd without feeling chaotic. Where Finns uses the beach as its focal point, Atlas uses the venue itself. It's a destination in its own right rather than a place you end up at because the beach is right there.
Vibe: High energy, visually dramatic, and more self-consciously designed than Finns. Atlas leans into the spectacle of it — the architecture, the DJ booth, the scale of the pools. It rewards leaning into that rather than looking for something low-key.
Crowd: Bigger groups, birthday celebrations, bachelorette parties, and anyone who wants a day out with more going on. Younger on average than Finns during the day, and significantly more lively in the evenings. If you want to carry the energy of a beach day into an actual night out, Atlas has the infrastructure for it in a way that Finns doesn't quite match.
Food and drinks: The food is good and the drinks menu is extensive. Atlas has multiple dining areas across the venue, which gives you more variety than a single menu at Finns, though the tradeoff is that service can be slower when it's busy. Come for the experience rather than specifically for the food, and you won't be disappointed.
Best for: Larger groups, milestone celebrations, anyone who wants more than a quiet beach day. It's also the better venue if you're trying to impress — the setting photographs well and has a wow factor on arrival that Finns, for all its charm, doesn't quite have.
Practical notes:
- Reservations for tables or cabanas are strongly recommended, particularly on weekends and public holidays.
- Budget more than you think you'll need — it's easy to spend more at Atlas than planned, simply because there's more to spend it on.
- The venue can feel overwhelming if you arrive without a plan. Knowing in advance whether you want the pool area, a cabana, or a dining table makes the experience significantly smoother.
So which one should you go to?
If you want a relaxed day by the beach where the sunset is the main event and the venue stays out of its own way, go to Finns. If you want the full Canggu beach club production — scale, energy, and something to talk about when you get home — go to Atlas.
Most guests who stay with us for a week end up doing both, which is easy enough given how close they are. A quiet Finns afternoon and a livelier Atlas evening are not mutually exclusive, and neither requires more than a ten-minutes drive from Villa 1 or Villa 2.
